During my trip in Taiwan last year, I met a friend who opened up a gym.
He’d moved there alone from Vancouver with zero experience running a business.
Curious, I asked him:
“How do you even navigate all of that?”
What he said next was interesting — and it’s more straightforward than you think.
Climbing the Mountain
Picture this: you’re standing at the base of a mountain.
Each cliff is a problem, each rock an obstacle. You can’t see the summit, only the step right in front of you.
You could stand there all day, analyzing every possible route. But if you never move, the sun will go down and you’ll still be at the bottom.
The only way up?
Take one step. Look down. Adjust. Take another step.
And with every step, the path starts to reveal itself.
It’s so simple — and has stuck with me ever since.
What I’ve Learned About Finding Clarity
Take the first step, START.
It’s scary. It’s risky. But so is being stuck in the same place.
Does it align with my goal?
Pause periodically to make sure the direction you’re heading still serves the bigger picture. Don’t go blind trying to chase the sun.
Focus on what is in front of you.
Don’t get lost in the horizon. Minimize the noise, find and prioritize the next step.
Whatever you do, DO NOT stop.
Action builds momentum, creating clarity. Staying still creates doubt.
If You’re Looking for Clarity, Act.
There is no perfect roadmap in life; the future is full of uncertainty.
If there is one thing to takeaway — from my friend, from the mountain, from building my own path — it’s this:
Clarity doesn’t come from thinking. It comes from taking action.
👉 What’s one step you can take today — even if the whole path isn’t clear yet?
Become unbreakable.
Talk soon,
Chun
