"Where do you see yourself in five years?”

Don’t worry, this isn’t an interview, but I’ve never been much of a planner.
And honestly, I used to hate that question.

It always felt like pressure to have life figured out.
And truthfully? I didn’t. I still don’t.

But when I look back, I realize how much can change—even when you have no idea what you’re doing.

Here’s what the last 5 years looked like for me:

2020 - I was delivering food during the pandemic, then road-tripped across Canada with my best mate and some friends in his SUV.
2021 - Working night shifts at a call center, binge-watching self-improvement videos, searching for something more but not knowing where to start.
2022 - Switched jobs. Thought it’d fix everything—it didn’t. The deeper issues followed me because I hadn’t changed yet.
2023 - Quit my job on my birthday. No plan. Just a quiet promise to build a life I’d actually be proud of.
2024 - Tried dropshipping, digital products, SaaS… failed at all of them. But I learned. I got sharper. Hungrier. More grounded.
Now - I’m creating content, traveling through Asia, and finally building something that feels aligned—with who I am and who I want to be.

I’m not the same person I was five years ago.

And that’s not because life handed me a better plan.
It’s because I started showing up differently.

Here are five things that changed me the most:

  1. Resilience

I’ve failed more times than I can count, but I’m still here. Still trying. Still stubborn enough to believe it’s worth it.

  2. Courage

Quitting my job with no backup plan was terrifying—but I did it anyway. I chose change over comfort, even without guarantees.

  3. Perspective

Traveling through Asia opened my eyes. Seeing how others live reminded me how privileged I am to pursue this path—and how personal every journey is.

  4. Discipline

I stopped waiting for motivation. I started building habits that stick, even on the hard days. Discipline became my anchor.

  5. Solitude

Learning to be alone—especially in a foreign country—taught me more than any book or course. It gave me clarity, self-trust, and the space to grow without distractions.

The next 5 years? I still don’t have a perfect map.

But I trust myself now.
I know I’m becoming someone stronger. Sharper. More focused.

And that’s more important than any fixed destination.

So now I’ll ask you:

👉 Who do you see yourself becoming in the next 5 years?

Not where, not what job, not how much money—but who.
And what needs to change today… to start that becoming?

Your future self is waiting.
Don’t let them down.
